Entertainment Law

If you are a writer, director, producer, actor, agent, manager, musician, or other entertainment industry professional, please contact me for a free initial consultation to determine if we'd be a good fit.  My prior entertainment industry experience includes work at a mid-sized talent and literary management and production company and in the home video division of a major Hollywood studio.

My services as a Los Angeles-based entertainment lawyer include negotiation and drafting of literary option and purchase agreements, life rights agreements, production and financing contracts, screenplay/teleplay legal review and advice, writer collaboration agreements, releases, writer/director/talent employment agreements, loanout corps, LLC & LP formation for filmed entertainment projects, and production counsel services.

For new and aspiring writers, directors, producers, actors, and those with reality television ideas, I offer hourly rate legal and general entertainment industry advice by telephone, on such topics as how to obtain an agent, how to option a book or other literary material, how to submit your screenplay, and how Hollywood works.

Assisting artists or producers in obtaining musical recording deals, or acting as an agent, is not one of the entertainment legal services offered.

Depending on the nature of the matter and representation, you may retain me as your entertainment lawyer on a flat fee, hourly, or percentage-of-budget basis.  In rare circumstances, I may defer all or part of my entertainment law fees, but this generally means a higher hourly rate or flat fee.  A brief initial consultation via email or telephone is always without charge or obligation, but legal advice and counsel is provided only to clients.
